Tonie Larkins, an eighth-grader from South Lake Public Schools, and an Eastpointe resident, is a member of the Detroit Youth Choir. The group was featured on America's Got Talent, and placed second, only being bested by one act. The Eastsider wrote an article featuring Tonie.
